LIFE Guide

Research Methodology & Sourcing Standards

GQuixote Life is built on the conviction that serious inquiry must show its work. Every essay is accompanied by a research notebook that exposes the primary evidence, limits of current knowledge, and reasoning chains that led to our conclusions.

1. Sourcing Hierarchy

We do not rely on second-hand summaries, journalism talking points, or unverified claims. Our research notebooks prioritize sources in the following strict order:

  1. Primary Archival & Legal Records: Direct treaties, historical trial records, legislative acts, and primary historical documents.
  2. Peer-Reviewed Empirical Science: Controlled experiments, meta-analyses, and pre-registered academic papers from established journals (e.g. Nature, Science, arXiv preprints from verified working groups).
  3. Standard Foundational Literature: Classic scholarly works that defined the vocabulary of the discipline.

2. The Rule of Evidentiary Limits

Every research entry must explicitly state what the source does not prove. For instance, when reviewing DeepMind’s AlphaFold, we state clearly: protein structure prediction proves computational biomolecular simulation capability; it does not prove autonomous reasoning or consciousness.

Distinguishing evidenced capabilities from speculative extrapolations is the core duty of our editorial approach.

3. Use of AI in Research

We use Perplexity AI as a research accelerator to index vast academic databases and surface primary source citations quickly. However, 100% of questions asked, hypotheses tested, synthesis written, and ethical judgments made are directed exclusively by Gee.

No text is published without complete human verification of every cited DOI, paper link, and historical date.
