GQuixote Life is designed for patient, sustained inquiry into humanity, intelligence, and the future. This guide outlines how essays and research notebooks connect, how to evaluate evidence, and what to expect as the publication grows.
The Dual-Layer Architecture
Every major topic on Life is structured across two complementary surfaces:
- The Essay: A coherent, reflective exploration of a central question, written for clarity, depth, and synthesis without technical jargon.
- The Research Notebook: The open evidentiary trail behind the essay. Rather than burying citations in tiny footnotes, the notebook transparently exposes primary sources, limits, methodologies, and exact passages.
The Three Tiers of Evidence
Inquiry fails when speculation pretends to be fact. To prevent this, our research notebooks categorize statements into three distinct layers:
- Established / Evidenced: Empirical results supported by peer-reviewed research, reproducible experiments, or clear historical records.
- Emerging / Plausible: Working hypotheses, probabilistic models, or provisional frameworks with active debate.
- Speculative / Hypothetical: Thought experiments, future projections, and philosophical questions worth asking, explicitly identified as speculation.
Guide Status & Upcoming Additions
As the publication expands into archival history (Past), contemporary systems (Present), and evolutionary horizons (Future), this guide will expand to include:
- Citation standards and dataset transparency (see Methodology).
- Interactive reading modes and RSS feeds.
- Frameworks for submitting counter-arguments and peer critique.
